Swalley Construction Company, Inc. Collection

F. Michael Swalling, president of Swalling Construction Company Inc., provided this collection to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in 2006 to support NOAA’s Pribilof Islands historic preservation efforts. Swalling Construction Company Inc., under contract to the U.S. Government, constructed several buildings at St. George during 1954 and 1955, including the carpenter shop, warehouse, brick homes, and portions of the current school. Suzie Lestenkof Merculief, Dick Merculief, and Lawrence Prokopiof, Jr. may be seen in the photographs of this collection.
