National Marine Mammal Laboratory Photograph Library The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Mammal Laboratory Library located in Seattle, Washington, holds Pribilof Islands images in several collections. The Fur-Seal Archive contains sets of aerial photographs of seal rookeries taken in different years, as well as photographs of buildings, sealing activities, fur seals and other fauna, and flora taken by Victor Scheffer and others. These photographs were taken as part of NOAA and its predecessor agencies’ research activities. The library also has a slide database containing images from the Pribilof Islands. This database was set up as part of the Platforms of Opportunity program at the National Marine Mammal Laboratory and includes images filed by species. Finally, in 2005, Karl Kenyon donated a collection of materials to the library. The collection includes slides, prints, and negatives some of which show flora and fauna of the Pribilof Islands. The collection also includes paintings by Karl Kenyon featuring Pribilof Islands subjects. Select images from these collections are presented here.
